This is why I subscribe to authors on Substack. I had no idea Jews lived in Iran. I found that completely shocking. Words getting lost in translation has fostered such a false narrative and the fact nobody has done any investigation to bring this to anyone’s attention just shows how unscrupulous today’s MSM is. I shouldn’t just say today’s because the narrative that Iran wants to destroy is all is something I’ve thought since Reagan brought our hostages home. I lived through that and when it was happening and Carter had no ideas on how to bring them home it led to Reagan becoming president and when he got them home it made him very popular. I’m not going to EVER say anything that disparages the Gip because he was one of the greatest presidents we ever had and his policies led America for 30 plus years until Obama destroyed just about everything he had in place that was guiding us and keeping us prosperous and safe. Still, while this article opened my eyes a lot Iran still supports Hamas and the Houthi’s plus a couple more of these outfits. It’s difficult to believe the Govt doesn’t harbor ill will to America too. The death to America narrative has been around for over 50 years and changing that is going to take more than just this article. Iran has taken other American hostages and they are sketchy with their nuclear plans not just with us but the UN too. Great article though. Would like some more about this and the Middle East that we aren’t getting from the MSM.

This guy writing the article supports fascism and Islamic supremacy. Iran pretends to treat Jewish people well but doesn’t give them equal rights. You are the same as people who support separate but equal policies in Jim Crow era of the United States.

If the Iranian mullahs are so lovey-dovey with the Jews -- Iran has enough of them to stretch from the twenty yard line to the fifty yard line of a football stadium -- why the psychotic mania to destroy the hated Zionist state and the mullah's refusal to permit its Palestinian proxies to work out a mutually beneficial deal? If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, even if it's an Iranian mullah who, come to think of it, is illegally occupying ancient Persian, pre-Muslim land...

Your article is spot on! Thanks for writing such an eloquent and well written article. As a practicing Jewish man, I attend synagogue with several Iranian Jews and they told me they moved to the USA for economic reasons. It is also important to note that the current tension in the Middle East arises from the fact that Jewish people have been scattered across the world after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE and are under divine decree from G-d to wait for Moshiach to have a Messionic State of Israel. The proof of this would make this comment to long but I will leave the readers with a link. https://torahjews.org/mission/ I have spent considerable time researching this finding. Please note that many will tell you that the two Orthodox Jewish Groups supporting this position are radicals. I can attest that their position is correct based on what Scriptures, the prophets, virtually all Rabbinical leadership before the creation of the State of Israel, and all the Jewish Sages have stated. Over the last 75 to 100 years, Zionism has been confused for Judasim. They are two opposing ideas that have nothing to do with each other. Thanks for reading.

This edifying post again confirms my fundamental premise for being on the net since 2015 - www.crushlimbraw.com - discovering truth is a process, not an end state for us mortals!

Thank you!

After watching several interviews with Avi Shlaim, my education of Jewish history was much enhanced! It was a total shock to find out about his happy, peaceful life growing up in Iran, where Jews and Muslims lived peacefully together. As a Jew--blind all of life to the reality of Israel--since October 7th, I have spent months studying. This substack you wrote, is exceptional! Thank You!!

Thank you for writing this piece. I learned to look at Iran's relationship to Israel in a new light. I had no idea that a Jewish community numbering over 9,000 exists in Iran today.
